Core Structural Materials
Greyboard / Paperboard
The most mainstream base material for premium lid-and-base boxes; standard thicknesses range from 1.5mm to 3mm. Increasing the thickness enhances the box's rigidity and compressive strength. It is suitable for the vast majority of high-end gift and digital product packaging, offering excellent cost-effectiveness and compatibility with automated production.
Corrugated Board
Offers excellent compressive strength and impact cushioning. Often designed with features like carrying handles or ventilation holes, it is frequently used for shipping packaging-such as fruit crates or large electronic products-due to its low cost and recyclability.
Acrylic
Often used for transparent lids to showcase the product inside. It offers high clarity and a premium feel, making it ideal for high-end packaging scenarios-such as jewelry or cosmetics-where the contents need to be clearly visible.
MDF / Solid Wood
Used primarily for high-end custom gift boxes. These materials are heavy and sturdy; CNC precision carving allows for unique, non-standard shapes. They are often used for packaging "affordable luxury" accessories and collectibles, conveying a sense of substance and sophistication.
Surface Decorative Materials
Coated Paper (Art Paper)
Compatible with four-color printing and matte or glossy lamination finishes, offering high color fidelity. It is the most versatile material for outer wrapping, widely used for standard gift boxes such as those for mooncakes and tea.
Specialty Art Paper
Includes tactile paper, pearlescent paper, and textured specialty papers. These materials feature unique textures and a refined feel, instantly elevating the box's premium quality without the need for complex printing; they are ideal for high-end cosmetics and luxury goods packaging.
